Under the coordination of Bursa Technical University (BTÜ) Research Office, an online collaboration meeting was held with Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT), one of Poland’s leading higher education institutions. The meeting focused in particular on the potential for joint research and project development between research groups affiliated with the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Maritime Studies.
The meeting was attended by academic staff from the relevant units of BTÜ together with representatives of the Research Office, while GUT was represented by academics from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology. Discussions covered the two universities’ research infrastructures, ongoing projects, areas of academic expertise, and opportunities for joint applications to international funding programmes.
In addition, based on the researcher profiles shared by GUT, potential areas of collaboration with BTÜ academics were identified, and both parties reached a mutual agreement to establish more comprehensive joint working groups in the next phase.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two institutions expressed their mutual intent to develop joint research projects, promote staff and student exchanges, submit collaborative applications to European Union funding programmes, strengthen industry partnerships, and plan joint workshops and meetings.
In line with its internationalisation strategy, the BTÜ Research Office stated that engagement with other universities in Poland will continue to expand, and that new steps towards collaboration will be taken in close coordination with the relevant academic units.
